If that didn’t resonate, see it this way. Two kids get to high school and each are offered to sit with the popular kids or choose to sit with their known trusted friend. One sits with the popular kids and ditches their friend and spends high school focused on their perception of themselves and what other people think about them Sounds tricky, it isn’t. It’s lack of self-awareness. The other kid who didn’t sit with the kids that peaked in high school picked up reading for pleasure on a Friday night and her friend remained her friend for life. Ultimately, understanding and becoming self-aware early in life opening up a world of doors. The other did not become self-aware and now they are older and have to learn it late in life.If that didn’t resonate, see it this way. Real leaders notice patterns. They live in the moment and use their sight, scents, and sounds to see trends. It becomes, if not already, a natural habit. They worry less about what anyone thinks about them as they know they are in control of their public perception. Real leaders notice patterns. SO- how can you become mindful? You BEGIN. Right here, right now, you just have to begin. What do you have to lose if you don’t try skydiving? Humans have 60-80 thoughts a day and sadly 80% of those thoughts are negative. They serve NO purpose. You can change your mood and mindset THIS SECOND. People can hold a thought for 20 minutes and they can change that thought in 5 minutes. Don’t put anything off anymore. Trust the system, trust YOURSELF, Who do you want to be? What do you want to do? Find a way to do it.
It’s not easy to change negativity, it takes practice. Instead of looking in the mirror and seeing what you need to fix look in the mirror and see what you love about yourself. You, self-aware, are a badass. You feel it, you think it, you become it. It’s not a competition it’s self-love. If you think you’re ahead or behind someone then you aren’t self-aware. If you are content with yourself and know the next steps to take, you are self-aware.
Your past is not your life sentence unless you let it be. What would you do if you could be and become for whatever you want? Fear of failure, is something that humans take personally. You want a job in a profession, your resume wasn’t up to par. You didn’t get the job, Don’t give up. They haven’t met you, it can’t be personal. You must also understand that failure itself is a lesson. Stop worrying about proving others wrong, stop worry about what anyone wants but you. Failure is an improvement. When you fail you see what you were missing and what you could have done better. Instead we get rejected, take it personally, and stop playing the game of life. Failure is an event, not a person. Sometimes in your life your efforts get rejected. No one who was ever successful at what they did or do has succeeded at everything. Steve Jobs was kicked out of his own company. What did he do? Learned, researched, and studied trends. He did things he wasn’t doing when he was working before. He didn’t get stuck on his failures, but he learned from them. He took his good qualities and rid of the bad ones. He tried again. He researched, he spent time alone, and he figured out.
“We are waiting for someone else to tell us how we should feel about ourselves.” -Jay Shetty
First and foremost you need to be alone with yourself.
You need to step out of your thoughts and see life from an outside perspective. No one starts at the top, they expand their goals and challenge themselves all the time. They don’t stop challenging themselves once they achieve the success they earned, they challenge their role for a better one. They avoid imposter syndrome and become one of their own. They recognize that their failures, successes, and the people who contributed.
It’s a beautiful gift to become self-aware and you didn’t get there alone. Instead of hating someone or blaming people, be grateful. Their actions have contributed to your self-awareness. Be humble, be honest, and share. What you learn, you can use to help others stuck in this insecure spot that you’re in now. Arrogance is taking credit for your achievements and failures. You are not the only one who got you where you are. If you are scared or unsure about ANYTHING from beliefs, to what jobs you are capable of, why other people believe the things they do- you research it. The key to self-awareness is to put yourself in others shoes.
Begin. Begin right now. Control your thoughts, are they negative? Change that. Do something you want to do big or small just because it interests you.
Failure isn’t being bad at something, it’s not trying at all, and giving up. Don’t use your personal issues to justify the lies you have told yourself overtime. Your thoughts morph into beliefs and your beliefs are how you value yourself. If you think it, it becomes. Swap your negative thoughts for positive ones. If you believe you can do it, you can.
note: Science shows speaking negative, talking negative, and focusing on the bad, and thinking negative is causing negative reactions in your brain. This is failing. You are telling your brain that these negative thoughts are real. Being negative, getting revenge, being hateful does nothing but breed hate. Swap your thoughts. Words are powerful.
how to swap your thoughts: understand what you’re saying to yourself and spin it in a non-negative way. Instead of saying “I’m tired” all the time. Try saying “I’m tired, I am going to bed earlier tonight”, The key is coming up with a positive action “I should go to bed earlier tonight”. Define your own words, define your own thoughts, and follow your actions. What is saying I’m tired? It’s NEGATIVE
“Any challenge we have now, we have been through before” -Jay Shetty
Lack of exposure, lack of knowledge, and ease of making poor choices. When you don’t have a reason to do something you may not do it. That’s where you are failing. You cannot know what you like and dislike all the time for two reasons. Feelings aren’t permanent and we change our values and our thoughts but we do not bother to notice it. We don’t bother to keep up with our own wants.
Observing, Focusing, Shadowing
Make a list of three people who inspire you: Who you look up to? Who do you see as a role model? They don’t have to be a great person but maybe they do things or say things that you find brilliant. For instance, again, Steve Jobs is inspiring to me. Why? By only selling apple products through apple and releasing the next iPhone in a period of time where it became exciting to it’s faithful consumers, so exciting, to the point where they were on the edge of their seats to purchase these iPhone. It was a massive deal to have a new iPhone. Now I don’t even know why I have one.
Learn every quality about these three people from their failures to their successes. Why Steve Jobs inspires me is based on his ability to sell products by studying present trends. What do we want? What can’t we have? He knew this, Steve Jobs is many things good and bad but what he truly is someone who is wise and went for his dreams. That’s how Genius’ come about. No one handed him an apple computer and said, “Here, become a billionaire.” Steve Jobs looked at the current market and what it lacks. He came up with a new design and a new way of selling products. He used his sights, scents, and sounds in his everyday life. Steve went out of his comfort zone and took took the plunge even though he knew they may not succeed.
Role models are people who are present in the moment, they prepare for the future by observing current life. Just like the stock market, they use the present moment and their past failures and successes to know how to get ahead.
You need to know what works for you and what doesn’t and then adjust yourself.
Steve Jobs failure was after his death. He failed by not following his own golden rule. He set in course an accidental motion for apple to fail by making one mistake. Handing Apple down to his kid in his will. This is ironic since his most inspiring quote is “You must hire the the best”. Had he hired or promoted someone to take his place, Apple would still be a goldmine and the customers would still embrace the rare luxury of a iPhone. iPhones’ are just as good as any other phone at this point.
Choose Education Over Entertainment- make your own Netflix of shows based on topics you are into. Make the entertainment that you participate in a lesson on behavior and human pattern. If you waste your life confused, depressed, and clueless it’s for one reason. You never became self-aware or bothered to try.. You’re as smart as you maybe were in high school. Why? You stopped learning when you didn’t have to do it anymore.
COMMON SENSE: Life works in 4 different transitions. The ages 1-25 you are developing a personality but your decisions are firmly guided by your upbringing; parents, family, the education system, friends, work etc. From 25-30 you are launching and becoming who you’re gonna be and discovering what you personally believe. In this phase you should question everything you’ve known, and make your own beliefs and choices. Are you willing to research and study? Ask yourself questions. Don’t follow or listen blindly. If you are born a catholic but find that you like Buddhism more, make Buddhism your religion. 25-60 is your life. No one but you is in control of you. 60 to death is your reflection. Do you want to have regrets? Are you happy? If you don’t go for it, someone else will, also by this time you will have learned that it doesn’t matter . Everything you feared before doesn’t matter. The only failure is not going for it
Living a purposeful life is sharing your purpose with others. To use your enlightenment. We use our frequencies and our vibrations to ignite other peoples purpose. How can you help someone? Wake up and ask yourself that everyday. No one has ever “made it”. They have found their purpose and spread it. If you truly can’t help someone, at least don’t ruin their day. Becoming self-aware happens when you begin. It happens when you realize you could be happier than you are and you figure out how to get there.
NO SHORTCUTS: NO “TOMORROW”: NOW.
Inch by inch life is a synch, yard by yard life is hard. Baby steps are crucial. If you try to fix all your issues at once, you’ll fail from burnout.
YOUR LIFE STARTS NOW.
Ask yourself right now. Are you ready to heal? Are you ready to forgive? Are you willing to drop your beliefs? Are you ready to begin the search for your purpose?
